Holani Named to Watch List

DALLAS – Boise State running back George Holani has been named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List.
Presented to the nation's premier running back by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum, the honor is named after the 1948 Heisman Trophy winner.
As a freshman in 2019, Holani gained 1,014 yards on the ground and averaged 5.3 yards per carry. He added 206 yards receiving and scored 10 touchdowns (seven rushing, three receiving).
For his efforts, he was named All-Mountain West Second Team and the Mountain West Freshman of the Year. He earned a spot on ESPN's True Freshman Team garnered The Athletic Freshman Second Team honors.
Last year, Holani gained 100 yards rushing in a season-opening win over Utah State before suffering an injury the following week at Air Force. He only made one appearance after that.
